Painful experiences often lead us to put up defenses to prevent from falling into overwhelming emotions. I view counseling as an opportunity to partner with my clients on their journey towards positive change and achievement of emotional/mental health. In my practice I enjoy working with adults individually. I specialize in trauma treatment and engage Prolonged exposure which has successfully alleviated trauma symptoms for many of my clients. I also utilize interpersonal family systems, and attachment theory in order to help clients learn more about themselves than they ever have. We will create skills and process together, to alleviate any disrupting symptoms of depression and anxiety. I am offering in person and virtual sessions.

My clients come to me from all stages of life. They might be facing relational challenges, life transitions, or burnout. Stress, anxiety, or trauma all may push a client toward seeking help. I also work with those in high-stress occupations, including athletes, medical professionals, and law enforcement officers. My clients seek relief, restoration, and wellness. The hardest step can be getting here, and you’re here. Having worked years in the behavioral health field, I’ve learned to adapt to each individual. My style often includes neuro-affirming, client centered, play therapy techniques, and other evidenced based methodologies such as ACT. My hope is to work collaboratively with you as an individual, with your child, and/or family, to develop the tools you need to support in navigating life.

I believe everyone can benefit from talking with someone who understands what they are going through when life gets challenging. One that deeply values being present and empathic, yet also offers practical tools known to help empower you to take back your life. I’ve spent over a decade working with individuals that have struggled with depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma, implementing best practices such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

Therapy can be weird. It can be uncomfortable to open up to a stranger about your thoughts, feelings, traumatic memories, and expose the aspects of you that are unhealthy. Therapy can also be a space where you allow yourself to be fully known, fully valued, and more clearly understood. My goal is to create an environment where you can more fully understand yourself, accept yourself, and allow yourself to grow in order to live an exciting and fulfilling life. I most often work with people who have experienced complex trauma, and struggle with addictive or out-of-control patterns as a result.
