Hi! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Arizona. I received my Masters in Social work from Arizona State University and have been practicing since 2011.

As a licensed counselor I work with individuals, couples and families who have experienced trauma, including shame; as well as clients with anxiety, depression and addictions. I also specialize in working with children who have autism, anxiety, ADHD and sensory processing issues, as well as with their family members. I work with clients to help heal their attachment wounds and to integrate their past traumas so they no longer act as triggers in their lives. Working with couples and families to assist them in understanding their triggers and emotions and in communicating in a validating and empathic way is my strength.

Life can be tough. We all have needs to connect with others and be seen for who we are, what we’ve been through, and how we can grow further. Maybe you’d like to find a better way to play the cards that life has dealt. As a therapist, I will journey with you as we sort through your strengths and challenges to find novel solutions. This may include facing difficult emotions, finding a way to tell someone you’re sorry (even if that someone is you), honing social skills, setting boundaries with loved ones or coworkers, dealing with a traumatic or overwhelming experience, or just balancing an already full and happy life.

No one can fix you because you are not broken! Unhealthy choices and patterns steming from learned behaviors can make us feel stuck. We decide how we will respond or react to life's circumstances. I believe in heroes/heroines because I look at her in the mirror daily. Like most, I've been victimized, but I've never been a victim. I chose and continue to choose not to Be.

I cannot fix you, because you are not broken! Sometimes when we are repeating the same destructive cycles and patterns of unhealthy behaviors, it can feel like a "broken" record, but you're not. You are stuck in a pattern of learned behaviors, which is not conducive to your overall health. I can help you identify those patterns by rewiring the brain and instilling healthier habits. Wellness comes from balance in all the areas of our lives: emotional, physical, social, and spiritual. Often things come up that tip the scales beyond what we can handle on our own. In counseling we work together to help you find that balance again, develop skills where needed, and move you into a healthier place. With a strong background in biology the approach to counseling is very solution focused and takes into account the natural tendencies and responses that may work against wellbeing. I work with couples and individuals looking at issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD.

It is through reflection that we gain an understanding of where we stand and what we believe. Perhaps it is finally time for you to take care of you. While working with clients I focus on their strengths and incorporate a sense of humor that helps individuals feel comfortable and open to self exploration. I support clients along their journey of healing their pasts to a place of self acceptance and love in the present.

We are currently living in a world where there is a lot of things that are happening in which we do not have control over. These circumstances can impact us directly or indirectly causing unnecessary trauma. When mental illness go unchecked it can cause underlying issues such as anger, anxiety, depression, and/or addiction.

I believe many of the current life issues people struggle with are the result of dysfunctional coping skills developed as a result of previous experience. These can negatively effect you and your ability to live the life you want to live. Change is not easy, but it is worth it when you see the difference it can create in your life. The ideal client for my practice is one who is motivated for change and is willing to walk through the difficult steps to get there.

I am a very down to earth individual and believe that when we change our thinking we can change our behaviors. When we change our behaviors, we can change our lives for the better. I use my extensive training and education in various counseling modalities to help those seeking a better life experience. As a therapist, I strive to create positive change in others’ lives, but first and foremost, aiding in the realization that such a change is in fact, possible. I am deeply invested in the growth and happiness of those that I am privileged to serve.

There are various obstacles life presents to us that leave us with many emotions to process. I have a Masters from Colorado Christian University in Clinical Mental Health with emphasis on Addiction and Chemical Dependencies, and a graduate from the Sexual Health Alliance and am pre-licensed with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) as a Sex Therapist providing in-depth psychotherapy treating clients with sexual issues and concerns.
