I am glad you have come this far into your journey to better your life, family, or marriage! It would be a joy to walk alongside you as you continue in that process. My areas of clinical interest/specialty are couples counseling, pre-marital counseling, crisis counseling, teen/college counseling, pornography and other sexual issues, substance abuse counseling, and family counseling.
I take a largely Existential and Emotion-Focused therapeutic approach, while also integrating techniques and knowledge from other approaches, such as Gestalt Therapy, REBT, CBT, DBT, and Person-Centered Therapy. I am also certified in both SYMBIS and Prepare/Enrich, two couples counseling programs.
I have found that people appreciate a counselor who confronts unhealthy habits rather than simply going along with them. I base the word "unhealthy" in research and clinical work.
