My primary focus and passion is working with women and underrepresented groups in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields. I work with anxiety, depression, adult survivors of childhood abuse, and more. I have a special interest in working with early career professionals around topics of navigating conflicting expectations, impostor syndrome, and work-life balance. I am the author of The Empowered Highly Sensitive Person: A Workbook to Harness Your Strengths in Every Part of Life. Find it at: amazon.com/author/amandacassil
Difficult bosses and unsatisfying work can often lead to depression and anxiety without a clear understanding as to "why" we feel different. I commonly help clients explore themes of managing up, communication, managing conflicting expectations, first-generation students, and assertiveness within the context of power differentials.
I place a high value on diversity and exploring the multiple identities that individuals must navigate in academic, social, and family settings and I invite clients to explore these dimensions within therapy.
