Bariatric Psychological Evaluations and Therapy (Michigan Residents Only): The Center for Psychological Well-Being specializes in psychological factors related to bariatric surgery and weight loss. We provide evaluations and therapy for patients who are preparing for bariatric surgery or who have had bariatric surgery. Evaluations and therapy can be done virtually or in person. We are compassionate about the battles and struggles; emotional, physical, and psychological, surrounding obesity. Our goal is to educate clients on the psychological aspects of bariatric surgery and assist them with any difficulties before and after surgery.
Our evaluation consists of an interview and psychological testing. We discuss your goals and expectations related to surgery. Our goal is to educate you on the process of bariatric surgery and weight loss, inform you of the obstacles some patients face throughout the process, and help you develop a plan to ensure the most successful surgery outcome possible.
We discuss behavior modifications necessary for you to thrive post-surgery, body image, mental health, disordered eating, emotional eating, barriers that may prevent patients from realizing success. Finally, we make individualized recommendations for you. Continued therapy can then expand on these issues. Reach out to schedule today. www.cpwpsych.com
