My goal is to work with you to identify your main areas of concern/stress and develop a realistic strategy to reach your goals. I am a big fan of “doing what works” which, of course, means a different plan for each person. I work hard to adjust my own working style and in employing different strategies to meet your needs - to find the thing that works for you.
Typically in session I will use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Existential Therapy to move towards alleviating immediate symptoms in the short term, and changing habits and thought patterns for the long term. In changing what we do and what we think, we can change how we feel.
Existential Therapy essentially asks “what makes a meaningful life,” and attempts to align our actions with our values, making sure we are living the way we hope and aspire to live in the long term.
