I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) and a registered play therapist (RPT). While I still work with children and adolescents, I have also expanded my practice to work with more adults. I believe the foundation of counseling is building a trusting relationship with my clients and making them feel at ease. I approach therapy as an interactive process and I enjoy working collaboratively with clients and utilizing methods that best fit each individual's needs.
I have experience working with individuals dealing with presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, foster care/adoption, life transitions, grief & loss, behavioral difficulties and trauma related issues.
I often utilize CBT techniques with adolescents & adults to address current thought patterns & develop positive coping skills as well as combining mindfulness techniques such as breath work to help with mind body connection. As an RPT, I utilize child-centered play therapy, an effective approach to allow children to process challenges & communicate needs.
