As a 40-something with 15+ years of clinical experience in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have found that life is a journey of learning filled with twists and turns, many of which are beyond our power and control. It seems that when we are faced with the choices that naturally proceed from this journey, often we choose something not because it aligns with our highest value, but because it protects our unspoken vulnerabilities. If our greatest loyalty lies with our greatest fear or pain, then that fear or pain holds the potential to be either the cage that imprisons us or the opportunity that grows us to a new level of development.
I love to meet my clients where they are, help develop their readiness, and equip them for their next steps. I offer guidance and encouragement as they build competency, comfort, and confidence in their new skills and life direction. To do this, I operate from a foundation of systemic thinking.
I also hold a deeply rooted connection to my Christian faith and a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries from Bethel University Indiana. Our therapeutic work together can include Christian Counseling with a Biblical foundation and the use of prayer or scripture to whatever degree you desire.
