I provide a confidential setting where straight & gay couples can address matters of the heart. I help you figure out what's wrong and consider what to do about it. The length of therapy varies from one-time consultations to long-term treatment, depending on your problem, interest, and resources. I work well with couples who fear they may not be able to go on together. I also enjoy working with recovering alcoholics and addicts, supporting their integration of therapy with the wisdom and fellowship of the Twelve Steps.

My specialty is people, not problems. I help you value your strengths as you also become more aware of your habitual patterns. The more you accept who you are, understanding how you operate with other people, the better life choices you make--and the better it feels to be you.

My thinking and clinical methods are informed by psychodynamic theory and Shambhala Buddhism. I completed a masters degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy at Naropa University in 1992. I have also completed advanced training in Object Relations Theory and Practice through the International Psychotherapy Institute.
