Greene Clinic is a collective of diverse practitioners. Our services include a range of psychotherapy approaches, psychiatry, art therapy. Greene Clinic's psychotherapists are trained variously in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, as well as skills-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral (CBT) and dialectical behavioral (DBT). Our approaches help clients deepen their self-understanding, work through feeling stuck, and gain tools for making change. We welcome clients from underserved and marginalized communities, including sexual, religious, and ethnic minorities. We are LGBTQ & alt sex friendly. Our clients include couples, families, students, people in the arts, immigrants, and people struggling with or recovering from substance use, eating concerns, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions.
We take a respectful, non-judgmental and integrative approach to treatment. We fashion a good fit between client and therapist, as well as therapeutic modality. We have some low fee spots to work with student therapists, under supervision. We hold a phone consultation with all incoming clients in order to make a thoughtful referral to one of our therapists.
We offer remote therapy and have two offices located within the Fort Greene/Downtown Brooklyn neighborhoods. We seek to serve the wider Brooklyn community. Please note that we are out-of-network with most insurance plans, but work with our clients to help them utilize their out-of-network benefits. As a group, we operate on a sliding fee scale.

Transitioning into the role of motherhood, whether it is the first time or you have more than one child, can produce a host of mixed emotions. Alongside the experience of love/amazement, there is also anxiety, exhaustion, and feeling naturally overwhelmed. At times, motherhood can also bring about difficult feelings related to our upbringing and relationships with caregivers. This therapeutic group offers a safe space to explore and share these thoughts and feelings, often times hidden by mothers. Additionally, the group teaches practical strategies for navigating this complex role, including ways to enhance self-care, improve confidence, and reduce stress.

CURRENTLY FORMING A VIRTUAL GROUP (Day/Time TBD, starting in December). DBT integrates Eastern philosophical principles with Western behavioral psychology, to help individuals find balance between at times opposing ideas, such as acceptance and change, emotion and reason, being and doing. DBT groups focus on skill building and increasing insight. Each group begins with a Mindfulness practice and then delves into other topics such as tolerating distress, regulating emotions, and improving interpersonal communication. Participants work on personal goals, develop skills to apply to those areas, and support each other through the difficulties inherent in change. Led by Dr. Sara Richardson.
