My practice is currently full. We all face challenges in our lives, and sometimes outside support can be very helpful. My goal is to create a safe space in which you can consider personal experiences and values and take steps towards your goals. I have many years of experience supporting adults and teens dealing with depression and anxiety and working through issues related to trauma and substance abuse. I strive to provide helpful support around life transitions and stresses, which may include family and relationship changes, school and work changes, divorce and separation, grief and loss, and health-related concerns.
My approach is relational and strengths based. I am interested in how early attachments shape our development, and how later relationship experiences confirm or change our sense of self. Understanding how the broader social context also affects us can lead to greater compassion for ourselves and others. I also find EMDR to be a helpful modality for many.
Stories we tell about ourselves and others matter. Examining our ideas can shift feelings about ourselves and our circumstances. Tuning in and deepening self-awareness may help us feel better, achieve goals, and connect more closely with others. As a therapist, my goal is to assist you in this process.
