The purest form of joy in my life is connecting with others. I care deeply about fulfilling my client’s needs for trust and empathy, and I am honored to hold the therapeutic space during our sessions. I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, wife, nature-lover, and mother to two teens. I work with clients to clarify their long-term goals and create stepping stones along the way. We'll celebrate successes, and work to develop self-compassion to encourage "patience with the process." I specialize in teens, groups, wilderness therapy, martial arts, fitness, and working with patients navigating medical care.
I use metaphors & visuals to teach helpful concepts, and encourage clients to explore healthy coping skills. Additionally, I work with clients to identify their strengths and support systems, and I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients develop life-serving beliefs. I use dreamwork & active imagination, and art & somatic interventions.
I've completed the requirements to become a Registered Sandplay Practitioner (RSP), and will be awarded the designation upon receipt of my therapy license. RSPs must complete training, supervision, and consultation as outlined by Sandplay Therapists of America (www.sandplay.org). I'm also Internal Family Systems and trauma-informed.
