"What I am is good enough, if I would only be it openly". I have centered most of my work on this strength base belief of Carl Rogers. It is so easy to focus on what is not working and what has to be 'fixed' rather than on what is working and what is right in ourselves. Our society, social media, and some of our environments give us the message that we need to be 'better' that we are not 'good enough' just as we are. I center my work on a strength based model to reinforce self acceptance, self understanding, positive self thoughts, and enhancing confidence levels in yourself.
I find this strength based approach with a person centered focus works well with adults, teens and adolescents in addressing these self defeating behaviors and belief systems. I will meet you where you are and we will work together to identify your strengths and successes to build upon them so that you can reshape your view and belief in yourself.
I have been a counselor, behavior consultant and trainer for the past twenty years. I have worked with families, couples, adults, youth and children in a variety of settings. I have learned that creating a connection based on trust, acceptance, and understanding is the first step in making a positive decision in your life and I would like to assist you.
