Knowing where to begin to deal with your personal struggles can be difficult. In a supportive and collaborative environment we will uncover the strengths you already possess to conquer life's challenges. I provide counseling to all kinds of people, with all kinds of struggles. I specialize in anxiety and depression, but I am particularly interested in where they come from. This can include difficult life transitions, family conflict, relationship issues, history of abuse and anger problems-to name a few. My goal is to give you some strategies to help you feel better immediately, while working on larger patterns in need of change.
I have 20 years of experience working with adolescents, teens and their families. I utilize a broad approach, drawing upon elements of cognitive-behaivoral, psychodynamic, interpersonal and family systems therapies. Most importantly, I am strengths-based. I customize my approach to fit each person's unique strengths and needs.
I have a long history of working in the educational system. I enjoy interfacing with schools to help resolve issues related to academic underachievement and/or services for special needs. I am happy to use a therapy session to attend a school meeting in order to provide consultation and advocacy.
