Hi, I am a Narrative Therapy and AEDP trained psychotherapist. What that means is that I believe that each of us wants to find fulfillment, internal peace, and connection, but sometimes problems get in the way. In the face of life's challenges, it can be all too easy to define ourselves by what pains us and to gauge our self-worth by our problems. However, I work from the premise that you are not the problem, the problem is the problem. By changing our relationship to our problems we can gain control of and achieve peace with our emotional selves.
I specialize in working with individuals and couples working through life transitions such as marriage, fertility, grief and loss, job transitions, end of life, and trauma. I have extensive training in working with individuals and couples contending with attachment trauma, and how that impacts the ability of the relationship to function.
My experience working in community mental health and intensive in/outpatient facilities have gifted me the experience of working with individuals, couples and families of diverse backgrounds. If I am not congruent with your personal experience, I am certainly affirmative and an advocate.
