My work centers on helping clients confront, relate to, and manage the interplay between their feelings, actions, and sense of self. This understanding shapes my therapeutic approach, grounded not in a quest for temporary happiness or conventional success but in exploring and affirming our values, emotions, and unique way of being. Through simple exercises, journaling, and thoughtful conversation, we journey together toward a deeper self-awareness and coherence of being.
Therapy should be as unique as the individuals seeking it, unbound by conventional methods. I am a lay-ordained Zaike Tokudo 在家得道 in the Rinzai tradition of Zen, so I strongly emphasize the gestalt of the 'here and now.' This approach forms the cornerstone of our sessions, encouraging clients to engage with the present moment fully.
What most people need is a down-to-earth and relatable perspective. As a person with a rich life experience, my approach is grounded in the real world and our times. Essentially, all we need do is show up in our bodies. We do not need to change anything, buy into a system of guilt, or join a cult. We can just show up, and see what happens. There's enough there for us to feel our experience without judgement.
