I specialize in working with children and families going through difficult times and challenging situations. I have worked as a Program Coordinator at the Boys and Girls Club as well as in residential treatment for children with behavioral challenges in western Massachusetts. The majority of my career was spent at the Department of Children and Families, CPS for the State of Mass. During my 13 years of employment at DCF, I worked in many capacities including management. These experience have helped me to understand Complex Family Dynamics, Governmental Systems, and how they related to Substance Abuse, Mental Health and Community.
I utilize a strengths-based approach that is solution-oriented and rooted in the narrative perspective. I believe that problems do not define a person, so I help people to externalize problems, and take power over their issues. Moreover, I work with patients to re-write old and harmful life narratives into new comforting, more sustainable stories.
