I describe specialization as less about particular diagnoses; more about helping clients develop stronger personal identity consciousness or self-awareness. Personal and professional life transitions, anxieties, depression, obsessions, compulsions, eating issues, and myriad additional challenges are among specialty areas of my 25+ years experience with individuals, couples, families & groups.
Given that some conditions show most improvement with the combination of psychotherapy & medication, in 2005 I completed a post-doctoral Psychopharmacology Masters. Maryland psychologists can't yet prescribe, but the knowledge has been invaluable helping clients understand integral effects of thoughts & behavior with & without medications on the brain/mind & body.
