I am certified in the Gottman method of Couples Therapy, and I am one of 30 Advanced Gottman Clinical Trainers in the world. I obtained my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family in 2005, from Portland State University. I have worked in the field of counseling for the past 25 years, in the capacity of a case worker, recreation therapist, rafting and rock climbing guide for at risk youth. I have chosen to specialize in the Gottman method because of the effectiveness of the modality and because it is a research based model. I use practical exercises and directives in session, as well as assignments that I sometimes give clients to work on between sessions. I believe that the clients should have a clear sense of the direction of their therapy. I keep a close eye on where you are in terms of goal accomplishment, so that therapy has a course and there is an endpoint in mind.

I specialize in couples therapy and have been a couples therapist for over 20 years, I am also focused on helping clients on the Oregon Health Plan (Care Oregon).
