Trauma and abuse create wounds that take time and great care to repair. These wounds often show up as depression, anxiety, anger, insomnia, mood swings, dissociation and/or hopelessness. Healing begins by creating a safe therapeutic relationship to explore the impact trauma has had on your life, the changes you want to make, and a plan to get you there.
One of the most important goals in therapy is to learn to care for yourself and your important relationships when you are experiencing difficult emotions like sadness, anger, grief, shame, anxiety, and fear.
