Life's journey presents challenges for us all in unique ways. When the challenges become unbearable and affect our ability to function and connect to family and the world as we desire, we may need a safe place to voice these concerns and time to work through them. In the therapeutic process, my goal is to allow clients to feel safe, heard and able to re-connect to themselves in open in honest ways, so the personal work of therapy can begin.
As a bilingual therapist (Spanish/English), I offer a global perspective with personal & professional experience in the areas of adoption, children, families, substance abuse, trauma, grief/loss, terminal illness/cancer, and aging. Additionally, I am an adoptee with over 25 years of professional experience in the adoption & foster-care fields.
I utilize a holistic approach which can include: Trauma-Informed, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Play and Arts forms, Existentialism, Narrative, Systems and Structural Approaches, as well as Mindfulness and spiritual exploration. We are multi-dimensional beings encompassing mind, body and spirit and none of these areas can be ignored in the process.

Adoptee groups as warranted
Adult and adolescent adoptee groups are a positive and effective venue for adoptees to explore their unique identity concerns and questions and to know they are not alone. Themes and goals in groups will vary based on needs and current issues presented. Groups run for 10 weeks; requiring minimum of 4 clients and maximum of 8.
