Christi Kersten-Sutton, MA, LPC, AAT, Licensed Professional Counselor in Kingsville
Sometimes we just need a more effective way to address an issue, a solution we haven't thought of yet, or help getting a spouse or significant other to understand where we're coming from. Listening without judgement for the things you're doing well, instead of just identifying what's holding you back, allows me to offer new ways of seeing a situation, and support you more effectively in identifying workable solutions. Whether you're experiencing conflict in your relationship, concerned about your child or teen's well being, or experiencing emotional pain within yourself, I can help.
My experience includes providing counseling and social services to rural communities and in small town settings and schools for over 16 years. I have been been in private practice since 2011 in the Central Texas area.
I also have extensive experience, an excellent track record and a strong passion for working with children and teens. I am happy to collaborate with you or your child's health care providers or school to ensure you are receiving the highest possible level of care.

Christi Kersten-Sutton's Groups

Un-Bullied

This is a new group forming in the Kingsville/Bishop area for adolescents and teens who have experienced being bullied by peers or siblings. Bullying is a painful experience, but we don't have to give bullies the power to make us feel anxious, upset, or angry. It can actually make us stronger people who can handle more stress and challenge in our lives without giving up, and can teach us some pretty big life lessons. Classes are enrolling now, and will begin mid-October. Don't let bullies have the final say--you're in control of you!

The Autie and Aspie Social Club

This fun, informal program is designed specifically for verbal youth (ages 10-18) who have a diagnosis of mild to moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder or Asperger's. Each group will meet weekly and have a maximum of 3-5 children or adolescents per session. Members will be placed together with others of similar age and interests. The intention of this program is to create a safe space where members feel acceptance and belonging, and are given a unique opportunity to learn how to build relationships with peers in a therapeutic, but fun social environment.
