Alex Strauss, MD, Psychiatrist in Marlton
I am board certified in both adult psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry. I have expertise in the use of customized and collaborative therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), sports psychiatry, supportive therapy, family approaches for children with behavioral difficulties, family therapy, parent management training (PMT) and mental performance training. I complete a detailed assessment of emotional difficulties from medical, psychological, developmental, social, family, environmental and biological perspectives. As a physician, I also recognize that at times medications are indicated in the recovery process. When appropriate, I will work with you on personalized medication management.
It has been such a nice surprise to be recognized in South Jersey as a top child and adolescent psychiatrist from 2015-2017 in SJ Magazine's Top Docs for Kids. I believe in getting to know you and providing a comprehensive & thorough evaluation followed by personalized integrated treatment.
Background: I received a B.S. in Psychology at Duke University and my M.D. at Northwestern University. I was trained in a five year combined adult, child and adolescent program at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) (a top 10 program per the U.S. News and World Report).
