Lara Fielding, PsyD, EdM, Psychologist in Los Angeles
I treat human beings, not disorders; adults and adolescents struggling with difficult emotions and the effects of stressful life experiences. This approach is transdiagnositic. Whether you are experiencing significant emotion dys-regulation warranting a mental health diagnosis, or simply experiencing a particularly stressful life transition, skill building has been found effective. Who is the ideal candidate for Mindful-Mastery? Adults and adolescents who are: ready to take personal responsibility and work towards change in their lives; able to commit to skills practice between sessions; and/or having difficulty coping with life stressors and/or transitions.
Mindful-Mastery is an integration of the most effective mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (MB-CBT). The target of treatment is the emotion dysregulation that underlies many mental health diagnoses. Mindfulness skills have been shown to improve emotion regulation. As a current Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University, GSEP, and a former Psychologist Supervisor at the UCLA Department of Psychology, Dr. Fielding supervises graduate students in training, who practice the mindfulness-based treatments. From time to time, clients may see students in training at Mindful-Mastery on a sliding scale. Please inquire about these services.
