Lauren Whitelaw, PsyD, Psychologist in Portland
Individual and couples psychotherapy are brave endeavors that can be extremely creative and rewarding. The most important part of my approach is creating an effective working partnership with you so that you can get the most out of treatment. Ongoing distress can bring us to therapy and with good work this can lead to long-term change. Useful ingredients for most effective treatments are a collaborative partnership, lowering stress, and determining where clients want to go. My goal is to use evidence-based psychotherapy to help you learn a more joyful life rhythm and enhance your ability to live, work and love.
What sets me apart and what I've found to be extremely helpful in treating clients is the varied nature of the treatment approaches I'm practiced in. Depending on what issues bring you and your learning style, I draw on these different approaches to tailor our work to best suit your needs.
Feedback I've received from past clients often touches on the joy I bring to my work and how heard they felt throughout the treatment process. I know that first reaching out when in distress can be a difficult move, but the rewards can be equally as great.
