Authentic Life Counseling, LLC, MA, MFT, CDWF, Pre-Licensed Professional in Gresham
Life can get overwhelming at times. Often, stressful events, deep feelings of woundedness, feeling cut off from joy, and simply not feeling good about yourself or your relationship(s) get to the point where you know it is time to face these difficulties. As challenging as these things are, they can be the catalyst for change. I am available to help you with anxiety, sadness, grief, loss, and relationship issues and to experience life's challenges in ways that promote healing and wholeness and connect with what you truly want, need, and already have in your heart.
I am a relationship/emotion/mindfulness specialist and can help you open up to new ways of being with your partner, children, and yourself. It is possible to break free of destructive patterns in relationships and connect with your heart and with others. Allow 90 minute sessions for couples.
Through compassion and empathy, I strive to create a safe place to help people trust the things they know and face the things they don't want to know. Using mindfulness, emotion-focused therapy, and modern neuropsychoanalytic science I endeavor to help people live more authentically and with greater well-being.

Authentic Life Counseling, LLC's Groups

Mindfulness for Self-Acceptance/ Stress Reduction

This group teaches Vipassana Mindfulness to help clients experience emotional balance, well-being, and increased awareness of, and compassion for, self and others. Clients learn to notice how they respond defensively, automatically, and unconsciously to avoid or resist emotional discomfort, especially in relationships. Rather than resisting or reacting, one can learn to pause with openness and kindness for uncomfortable thoughts and feelings with a sense of non-judgment and acceptance. Mindfulness has been demonstrated to shift one's neuro-patterns in the brain toward neural integration and well-being. See for more details.

Daring Greatly (tm) and Rising Strong(tm)

As a certified Facilitator in Brene' Brown's Daring Way(tm) and Rising Strong,(tm) programs, I can guide you through a process of learning to live a more courageous, authentic, and wholehearted life. This program will include specific ways in dealing with issues such as shame and fear that keep you from being authentic with others. These programs help you own your feelings, acknowledge your needs, and tell your truth, your story. Meetings will be held on a weekly and/or 3 day intensive basis. See my website for details on upcoming groups.
