Lynn Dutrow, LCPC, Counselor in Frederick
Are you ready to challenge your feelings of worry, fear, and doubt??? My clients are teens, twenty-somethings, adults, and parents with anxious children who, with my help, learn to write a new script and "talk back" to their anxiety. I am here to assist you in moving away from overwhelming worry to embracing all that life has to offer! Whether you have been a worrier all of your life, or fears and self doubt are new to your scene, I use a unique Directive Cognitive Behavioral approach that my clients find assists them in pursuing a calmer, better future.
Anxiety impacts our self concept, our relationships, our jobs, and our ability to live the lives we dream of living. Are you ready to face your worry, fear, and doubt??? If the answer is "YES" then let's get started!
"When people are ready to, they change. They never do it before then, and sometimes they die before they get around to it. You can't make them change if they don't want to, just like when they want to, you can't stop them." - Andy Warhol

Lynn Dutrow's Groups

Anxiously Empowered - Adult Version

Are you ready to grab life by the horns? Is the voice in your head telling you that it's a bad idea? Does worry, fear, or doubt keep you from moving forward? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then this group may be for you! The group is a little bit educational (learn how your anxiety works), a little bit practice (for all those cool skills you are learning), a little bit social (there's no better place to face your fear than in front of other people), and a whole lot of support!

Anxiously Empowered - Teen Version

Teens being diagnosed with anxiety disorders is at an all time high. Society places a lot of pressure on our kids to "grow up" without equipping them with the tools and self-confidence to be successful adults. Anxiety works overtime convincing them that they are not capable of handling anything uncomfortable. That changes here! This group will be part educational (skills and tools), part practice (learn to use those skills and tools), part social (the best way to face your fears is in front of others), and a whole lot of support.
