Donna Major, LMSW, BCD, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Troy
Is your child struggling with anxiety, depression, school problems, or emotional issues due to the loss of a loved one, cyber-bullying, trauma or divorce? Have you experienced a life changing moment that is difficult to cope with? Are your children displaying behaviors that may be of concern to you? Have you been "stuck" with a situation that you are struggling to overcome? I have worked in Education K-12, for 15 years helping parents and their children overcome many difficulties in life and improve academic success. I help to strengthen family bonds and increase healthier ways of communicating.
Teens are especially prone to stress and have a difficult time opening up to their parents because they fear the unknown. Teens feel comfortable with me because they do not feel shamed or judged and I often use humor to get my point across.
I routinely communicate with pediatricians, teachers and school personnel to assist in resolving the issues of children and teens, with parental permission. My therapeutic approach includes play therapy, development of coping skills, and behavioral interventions in collaboration with the child's family. Call for a free consultation today.
