Cynthia J MacLeod, PsyD, LP, MFA, Psychologist in Bloomfield Hills
I have a lifelong interest in collaborating with people wanting to grow toward greater engagement with relationship, optimum expression of life purpose, and balancing aspects of Self. Together, we build a safe space for curiosity about self, beginning where you are, and proceeding at your pace. My general practice includes trauma survivors, adolescents, artists, couples, families, and people exploring issues of sexuality and gender. I have experience working with depression/anxiety; grief; dissociation; and life transitions. I will do psych evaluations for learning issues, bariatric surgery, sexual reassignment, and international adoption.
I am a continuous learner. I involve myself with organizations that promote professional skill and depth of understanding like the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, APA, MPA, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. I hold each client in mind and heart, looking through multiple lenses.
I use an integral approach to therapy. Different paths into core issues work for different people. The paths I use include emotions, sensorimotor clues, creative expression, dreamwork, cognitive work, narratives, spirituality, and neurological tools. Moving toward psychological health involves integrating and balancing one's life elements with radical self-compassion.
