Lana Roth, LCSW, ACSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Northbrook
I work with those struggling with depression, anxiety, and the effects of trauma and loss. I also specialize in working with teenagers and young adults who have difficulty socializing and/or communicating effectively, often resulting in isolation, low self-esteem and lack of motivation. When working with teenagers it is important to engage parents and I facilitate open communication to help parents better understand and support their children.
My approach combines psychodynamic therapy with cognitive behavioral techniques and a strengths based approach. I help the individual to identify strengths, to learn to express feelings and needs more appropriately, and to regulate emotions. My success is in building self-esteem and confidence in order to overcome obstacles, leading to achieving one's full potential.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with 30+ years of experience in multiple treatment settings including an autism clinic. Areas of specialty: adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, history of trauma, sexual and/or emotional abuse, and the challenges of high functioning autism.
