John C McWilliams, MSS, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Philadelphia
When working with individuals, I have been successful in helping people struggling with the anxiety that comes with forming their sense of identity through career and intimate relationships. I am also skilled in helping clients explore their sexual orientation. I work with people in recovery from substance dependence and sexual compulsivity. I enjoy helping couples heal from infidelity and improve their efforts to communicate, resolve conflict and feel understood. I work with couples who are considering or coping with the transition to a family of three. Recently my focus has turned to couples who are exploring an open relationship.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and obtained my Master's degree from the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research at Bryn Mawr College. Check out my website at johnmcwilliamslcsw.com for more information regarding my clinical skills and specialty areas.
I have come to the counseling field as a career changer having spent years as an executive working in corporate finance. I view therapy as a partnership and regard my role as a guide through the barriers that interfere with my clients' desire for growth and change.
