Jocie Sweeney, PhD, Psychologist in Charlotte
Throughout my clinical work, I have found that one of the most difficult steps in therapy is scheduling and attending the first appointment. My aim is to reward that courage by collaboratively working with clients towards reaching their goals. My method is an individualized approach and is couched within a cognitive behavioral and interpersonal framework. I was trained as a generalist in clinical health psychology working with a wide array of issues ranging from stress management and life transitions to more severe concerns. My specialties are in military issues, LGBQ and Trans/Gender Non-Conforming issues, and group therapy.
My genuineness and humor assist in developing a strong therapeutic relationship. Through this relationship, I strive to help clients develop an increased awareness and motivation to overcome their struggles and improve their quality of life. Please be sure to complete the forms located on my website before your first appointment.
I have led a number of groups, including anxiety, coping skills, depression, military, LGBTQ, and Trans groups. My group offerings are based on the needs of clients. My office is conveniently located just outside of the Uptown loop in the Dilworth/Midtown area. Easy access to I-77/I-277.
