Shanna Tillman, PsyD in Atlanta
Do you worry that the loving bond you once shared with your partner is being eroded by unresolved conflict? Are there issues you can't seem to talk your way through? Do you sometimes find yourself in a standoff with your partner because of disagreements that later seem trivial? Do you long to feel more connected and happy in your relationship, but can't seem to make it right? Or are you an individual who is concerned that low self worth, unresolved pain from the past, substance abuse, anxiety and/or mood imbalances are getting in the way of having healthy relationships and career achievement?
With couples I purely use an Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) approach. Research has found that EFT results in significant improvement in 90% of couples. With individuals, I utilize an integrative, experiential approach that incorporates mindfulness, body awareness, Emotion Focused and psychodynamic elements to encourage change, healing and self acceptance.
As a therapist, I have been described as non judgmental, open minded, compassionate and collaborative. My work draws from both my professional and personal experience with growth and healing. I realize that therapy can be a risky venture and I do my best ensure a positive experience and outcome.
