Kate Rooney, AM, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Chicago
The decision to enter therapy is a difficult one and indicates a serious commitment to improving and changing your life. My job is to join you in that commitment, and in doing so help you develop a sense of what you need and where you want your life to take you. For some this means establishing goals and priorities, for others it means figuring out how to achieve them. For each of my clients the focus and plan for our work together will vary depending on your individual needs, goals, and situation.
I believe no one form of treatment is right for everyone, but the foundations of the therapy I provide lie within identifying and exploring patterns, providing support, alleviating distress, and helping you increase your understanding of yourself, your decisions, and the circumstances outside of you that have contributed to the situation bringing you to treatment.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you believe I may be able to help you navigate your present circumstances. I offer a free 30 minute consultation to anyone interested in learning more about how I may be able to help. I can schedule via phone, email, or online.
