Lauren Lisi, LPC, MA, NCC, Licensed Professional Counselor in Littleton
Play is the language of children, and play therapy allows for self-expression, exploration, and healing to take place. As a play therapist, I help children to make sense of difficult life experiences or complex psychological issues through the activity of play. Play therapy treats a multitude of symptoms and includes a variety of mediums that work in tandem with, or in lieu of, verbal communication. Common issues include trauma, adoption/foster/kinship care, autism, attachment, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, school concerns/behaviors, and parenting.
I specialize in play therapy which can be provided in individual and family therapy formats. I have extensive training in Play Therapy, EMDR, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Trauma-Focused CBT, Sandtray Therapy, and Attachment-Focused Therapy. I run multiple groups focused on DBT, trauma, self-harming, adoption, and kinship care.
The foundation of counseling is the unique therapeutic relationship. I observe, remain objective, and honestly share my insights. I remain curious as children share who they and how the world works. I covet feedback and will be persistent in trying to help you find effective relief and solutions.
