Shaida Shirazian, MSW, Associate Clinical Social Worker in Encino
I place great importance on the relationship between the therapist and client as an integral agent of change. My role is to facilitate an understanding of how the mind works, break ineffective patterns, and aid in the resolution of deeper issues in a safe, supportive environment. I enjoy working with those of diverse backgrounds; striving to help others blend their two worlds while maintaining their own cultural richness.
I have extensive experience providing clinical individual and group therapy in treating Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Loss. I received additional training working with children and adolescents, as well as their families, in identifying and treating issues such as identity formation, cultural conflicts, behavioral concerns, and parenting.
My recent focus has been with the Iranian and Immigrant communities to improve their ability to cope with issues of mental illness, substance abuse, and chronic medical conditions. I emphasize a holistic, client-centered, and strength-based approach that empowers the individual, couple, or family to make their desired changes.
