Stacy T. Watnick, PhD, Psychologist in San Diego
(Previously Dr. Stacy Buhbe) Human beings have a great capacity for growth and change, and having a guide during that process is incredibly helpful. I believe it is my role to help clients find their strengths, and apply them to the areas in which they struggle. I work well with people who have realized their lives are not going the way they want, but can't quite figure out how to do things differently. I am an interactive, engaged therapist, and I genuinely enjoy helping my clients figure out how to be the kind of person they want to be.
Relationships with others are a central component in our lives. Partners, children, parents, family and friends influence and impact the way we live day to day. Even relationships from our past can effect the way we feel now. I have a particular strength in helping people understand and change relationships.
I have extensive experience with the following subcategory issues: military members and their families, substance abuse, alternative relationships (including poly and kink) and sexual health. I am also a Probation Certified Domestic Violence Facilitator and Supervisor. I have trained interns to learn to be the best therapists they can be.
