Ruth Cooper, MA, LMFT, Marriage & Family Therapist in Ventura
Ruth Cooper is not currently accepting new clients.
I have over 20 years of experience in individual and family therapy. My specialties include couple's therapy, the treatment of anxiety disorders, stress-related disorders, alcohol abuse and co-dependency, and recovery from childhood trauma. My practice includes adults, teens, and children 10 and older. I have a passion for working with couples of all ages! Part of each couple's assessment is an online relationship check-up, to help me get to know your specific concerns. This speeds up therapy, saving money and time. I also offer an 8-session pre-marital counseling package for $800.00.
My approach to therapy encourages active participation in the process of change. Clients receive self-help assignments so they end therapy not only feeling better, but with the skills to live better. I hold the attitude that every session can bring breakthroughs. I will work diligently to address your concerns.
People often believe it is insight that leads to change. But it is also true that consciously experimenting with thinking and behaving differently often results in significant insight and transformation. This is why I emphasize a mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral therapy approach in my work with individuals, couples and families.
