Dr Karl Menninger once said, "Love cures people - both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it." This reflects my reasons for becoming a psychotherapist. Doing my part to develop a "good fit" with everyone I meet is my first priority. This opens the way for building mutual trust and partnering. Within this relational context the work of therapy can begin. Finding a psychotherapist who feels like the "right fit" for you is an important first step to entering psychotherapy.
I practice traditional psychotherapy modalities integrated with positive psychology, energy psychology, and spirituality to address the variety of problems that surface at different times in life. Addressing my own healing first, and then bringing my experience and learning to others, led to the holistic and integrated process that is the foundation of my psychotherapy practice.
My personal values are reflected in how I prepare for and practice therapy. I experience a therapy modality before integrating it into my practice because I believe it is the best way to learn. Also I value weekly clinical supervision, and advanced clinical training, These practices help to keep me fresh and my practice expansive.
