I have had 26 years' experience in addictions treatment as well as childhood sexual abuse/trauma. My client population consists of those with co-existing disorders (i.e. addiction/trauma and other mood disorders) codependency issues for partners and parents of addicts, Adult Children of Alcoholics issues and other related areas. I also do assessments for addiction. I see mostly adults, often women, and I do well with younger people in high school and college.
With a solid cognitive behavioral approach and family systems perspective, I use insight oriented therapy to help clients reach the fullest understanding possible about how to integrate the various issues regarding recovery, trauma, and other issues.
I am an experienced therapist who has used EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing) since 1997. I attempt to see the 'whole person' from a strength based view so that clients feel empowered to make and implement changes we discuss.
