Dave Glick, EdM, MSW, CEAP, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Marietta
Feeling frustrated and stuck with a situation and are ready for change? I utilize and integrate several different approaches to psychotherapy. Typically I use behavioral approaches with children and more analytic approaches with adults. I believe strongly in progress and engage clients in ways that produce tangible and positive outcomes. My ideal client is eager for change and realizes therapy is an active, action oriented process which I can help them achieve.
My specialties are quite diverse as I have two degrees, one in Education and the other in Social Work. I was originally trained in behaviorism and usually merge behavior therapies with personality trait theories. This approach, while demanding, usually produces very positive results for my clients.
My practice is a safe place where people can share and be open. Once trust is established it becomes a virtual Swiss army knife, in that the therapy is adaptable and useful regardless of the situation. Essentially I want my clients to be empowered with a new sense of themselves and their abilities.

Dave Glick's Groups

Elementary School Social Skills

Our groups are for any child or teen struggling with a neurological or social issue. We do not believe in separating anyone based on a disability classification. I am a former Special Education teacher and founded this group in 2004. Targeted for younger children this group places an emphasis on social skills essential for both home & school. As well it eases the process for newly diagnosed children and their families.

Middle School Social Skills

Middle school, need we say more? The transition from elementary to middle school is often a challenge. The group eases this transition through skill building, support and mutual caring. Organizational skills are also taught and shared. Our groups are for any child or teen on an IEP or 504 plan and or struggling with a neurological or social issue. We do not believe in separating anyone based on a disability classification

Adult Aspergerians (Aspergers Syndrome)

The Adult Group was formed as our high school clients entered adulthood. This group aims to ease the transition out of high school and into other environments and adulthood. Skill building for forming relationships, work contacts and interviewing skills are taught and processed. Social outings are part of the group. This group also works to discourage and replace negative behaviors such as internet addiction and other dysfunctional processes. And most of all we have a great time in the process!
