Sue Boyd, LCSW, BCD, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in San Diego
I believe that therapy is rarely an easy thing to begin, and frequently people hesitate until problems seem overwhelming. But life doesn't have to become overwhelming to get help. All you have to do is take the first step. Therapy is hard enough without judgment, so I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for people of all sexual orientations and relationships.
I provide individual, couples and family therapy as well as DBT therapy for adults, adolescents and their families. I also specialize in working with people who are Lesbian, Gay or Bisexual. I'm a Gender Therapist, providing Gender Therapy to Transgender people and their families in San Diego county.
I am a Kink-Friendly therapist and also specialize in providing therapy to the Poly community. I also specialize in working with gay and transgender teens who are being bullied and gender variant children and their parents.

Sue Boyd's Groups

Adolescent DBT group (Multi-Family)

Our practice, Personal Evolution Psychotherapy, works with people that think outside of the box, and we specialize in working with adolescents who have mood swings or depression, have difficulty regulating emotions, have low impulse control, have a difficult time interacting with others, and/or have suicidal or self-harm behaviors. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a research-based, empirically validated therapy that works. This group requires parents and adolescents to attend skills training group, individual therapy for the teen weekly, and monthly family therapy with a PEP DBT therapist. Consistent parental attendance in the weekly skills training group is required.
