Cathy Heyman, MA, NCC, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor in Bee Cave
If you've ever been told you were 'too nice' or 'too bossy' then we'll probably work well together. I have a knack for helping people whose childhood caregiver(s) were overbearing and possibly struggled with alcohol or mood disorders making them emotionally unavailable. You may also have a habit of attracting mates who have a similar style of relating with you and thus find security elusive in relationships. I'm well versed in the grief and recovery process that follows 'break-ups' in love and work that result when you cannot be yourself.
You are likely to enjoy working with me, if you want more of the real you to show up in your relationships and lifestyle. I encourage honesty rather than promote the version society, media and family urge, a pressure you may be unaware motivates your choices.
When I challenge people, I match their style of emotional support, i.e. gentle touch or facts-based approach. Clients say they are less reactive to stressors and make decisions with increased confidence. I use a body/mind approach to raise awareness, create calm, and support alternative health choices.

Who Me? Memoirs

Ordinary people - Extraordinary tales - Enriching process... A process-focused workshop designed to help stifled writers plan and start a memoir by combining the dramatic arc outline with select journal techniques to record an interesting life event giving a glimpse of the writer in story form. The WM?M process enriches the connection authors have with themselves and their sense of wellbeing. The memoir created connects them with others for entertainment, education, or posterity. It's also a pleasant way to stretch creative muscles, process meaningful events, and spend time with other like-minded people.
