Irwin Ford Rosenfarb, PhD, Psychologist in San Diego
Hello and welcome. I offer psychotherapy for adults, couples, families, and teens dealing with relationship difficulties, depression and anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality issues, schizophrenia, and other mental health problems. I also help family members understand their loved one's difficulties and help couples and families communicate more effectively. I use well-researched treatment methods (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Family Focused Therapy) in an ethical and compassionate framework. I believe that change occurs within the context of a positive therapeutic alliance and my focus is on helping individuals, couples, and families make significant change in their lives.
I am a full-time Professor in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at Alliant International University and my treatment focus is research based.
I completed my PhD working with Dr. Steven Hayes, the developer of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and completed an NIMH fellowship at UCLA working with Dr. David Miklowitz, the developer of family-focused treatment (FFT) for depression and bipolar disorder.
