I help with trichotillomania. Although other people suffer with trichotillomania, the reason you pull your hair is unique to you. My ideal client is willing to look beneath anxiety to understand the role of trichotillomania in your life. I also work with people who find relationships difficult to maintain and are curious to learn why. In addition, I relate to mothers of twins. I understand how multiple births bring new frustrations and complicated emotions into the family dynamic. As an older woman who is outside the immediate family, I may offer some needed perspective and patience.
My specialty? I think patience is my specialty. Perhaps because I have been shown patience when I needed it. I offer a one-on-one setting where there is space to allow trust to grow, to explore feelings, and the privacy to risk thinking together. Undivided attention may be a new experience for you. I bring both academic and psychoanalytic training.
I understand the decision to seek help is difficult. It's hard to make that phone call, set up an appointment, and show up. Then there's the work. But I do believe that two heads are better than one alone.
