Allison Burque, MA, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Chicago
As a licensed clinical social worker, I offer therapy in an affirming environment where individuals share concerns about their current and past challenges. I work collaboratively with clients to help them gain insight into their lives, feel understood in their struggles, develop tools to create meaningful and sustainable relationships, and move towards a healthier, more balanced life. I see each individual as an expert in their own experience and I will work with you to tailor therapy sessions to your personal goals, strengths, and coping skills.
My approach to therapy is holistic and integrative, drawing upon feminist, client-centered, psychodynamic, trauma-informed and cognitive behavioral orientations. I work closely with clients to ensure therapy is safe, respectful, and confidential. Most importantly, I work actively to keep therapy focused and meeting the needs that clients present with.
I have specialized training working with LGBTQ individuals who are coming out, exploring sexuality, transitioning genders, living with HIV/chronically ill, and having children. I have additional experience with people experiencing addiction, grief/loss, chronic illness, anxiety & depression.
