Arden Mahlberg, PhD, Psychologist in Madison
"When you know who you are, and live, it, you are at home in the world." I help people access and utilize resources to heal from emotional suffering and achieve a greater sense of personal integration, self-mastery and fulfillment. I believe in listening to the symptoms of our distress, since they may be telling us something important. Often, our troubled ways of acting have a positive motive behind them that is simply being misdirected. We need to listen respectfully to all parts of ourselves and integrate what they have to offer.
I welcome new advances in the field while drawing on a variety of techniques and schools of thought, including cognitive-behavioral, Mindfulness, mental imagery, EMDR, transpersonal, Focusing, Jungian, Psychosynthesis, experiential and solution-focused work. I am on the training staff of the EMDR Institute.
I work to help people alleviate immediate distress while gaining insights and skills that will assist them in living more authentic and fulfilling lives, including philosophical, spiritual and religious interests.
