Beth Barnard, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Nashville
I am honored that your are considering me to be your therapist. With time, by curiously hearing and understanding your life story through our professional relationship, I hope to unburden you of your pain and help you remove road blocks which might be keeping you from experiencing greater fulfillment. I enjoy working adults with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, infertility, adoption, gay and lesbian issues, grief and loss, chronic illness, chronic pain, and divorce issues. My specialties do not include eating disorders, psychosis or obsessive compulsive disorder but I would be happy to refer those specialties elsewhere.
I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, out-patient clinics and in private practice as a psychotherapist. My post-Master's training is from The Institute for Clinical Social Work and from The Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program in Nashville. I have an eclectic theoretical approach and enjoy Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and CBT.
I've given workshops, supervised new therapists, have done media presentations, enjoy my work, respect the boundaries of my profession, and appreciate a sense of humor in the clinical hour. Currently I work at a full-time job with college and graduate students and have a very small private practice.
