Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LCSW
Psychotherapy is the art of creating lasting change by holding the experience, wisdom and knowledge of both therapist and client within the care and connection of a trusting relationship. For over 30 years, I have been helping people find sound solutions to vexing problems: anxiety, depresson, trauma, relational conflicts, health problems and life transitions. I have also devoted much of that time to promoting the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer-identified people. My work involves creating an amalgam of approaches tailored to your needs, focusing not just on problems and barriers, but on your strengths, talents and capacities.
I am Co-Founder and COO of Live Oak, a group of psychotherapists and consultants who recognize the value of difference and the courage of authenticity. We also attend to both what is happening within you and what occurs between you and others in the various arenas of your life.
I have been an advocate for decades for LGBT concerns in the mental health field, co-authored the book "Something To Tell You: The Road Families Travel When A Child Is Gay," and have trained hundreds of clinicians in affirmative practice with LGBT individuals and families.
