My therapeutic approach is supportive, collaborative, and integrative. I work to tailor treatment approaches to the needs of my clients and to collaborate on identifying goals. My goal is to help clients gain insight, improve communication, and strengthen coping skills. I incorporate techniques used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and mindfulness. My clients have expressed an appreciation for my warm and accepting style. As Carl Rogers once said: "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.".
Trained as a generalist, I work with adults from a variety of backgrounds with a variety of presenting concerns. My specialties include the treatment of anxiety and depression, relationship concerns, and life transitions.
I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, university mental health, and private practice. I have experience providing individual, couples, and group therapy for adult and college student populations facing a variety of developmental, familial, mood disorder, sexual identity, and interpersonal issues.
